I have no problem at all with "wine setup.exe" for halflife, and I've got also wine and winex installed on my pc. But I did have that problem while installing Jedi Knight 2. It was fixed by copying the gamedata directory to the harddisk, and just starting from there with "wine jk2sp.exe"

I get this same problem. If I install vanilla Wine it won't compile with GL. If I install winex or winex-cvs I get this same "Unhandled exception" error and I can't get around it. I only have 1 wine on my computer right now and it is the latest ebuild of winex. Can someone please shed some light on how to fix this particularly annoying issue?

nope, but i assume they both work :) the extra cstrike doesn't really matters.. and hl.exe/cstrike.exe is just mod/retail..
