Okay, I've Googled [kde 3.1 mandrake-specific issue], and checked bugs.gentoo.org [nothing] and bugs.kde.org [see Googled], and I can't seem to solve this.
I'm running KDE 3.3, started with kdm, then logged in as a nonroot user. I open Konqueror, browse to ~.
I see an MP3 file, click it. KPlayer opens. I frown, right-click, Open With, Other, check "Remember this association...", type xmms, click Ok. Progress bar goes fine, opens in XMMS. Click another MP3, it opens in KPlayer, and the list of File Associations is unchanged [Settings->Configure Konq->File Associations]. The odd thing is, if I edit anything, via the Open With menu or Settings->Configure[etc], I looked, and I can see the relevant files appearing in ~/.kde/share/mimelnk, but KDE is ignoring them.
What should I do? _________________ moo |
