Hi,
Do you know any viewer for Nikon RAW photo format (NEF) for Gentoo?
Now I am using Gimp and this is great tool to edit but not to view... |

If you use the Gimp, you should also look at ufraw:
There is no ebuild for it yet, but I downloaded the code, typed make and make userinstall (or something similar). Now, when I open a NEF file, I get a very good front end with preview!
[edit]see https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=75681 for ebuild

UFRAW is great and has full color mamagement and the ability to output 16 bit color depth files when not using the GIMP plugin. I have been using the CVS version of UFRAW. UFRAW also can be run from the command line so batch processing of NEFs is possible. I have also noticed that Konqueror has the ability to view NEFs (at least it does on my machine with version 3.4.1).
I should also add that UFRAW is actualy a better program for converting NEFs that the Windows programs that Nikon supplies with their cameras. |
