There seems to be a problem with the Texas Instruments PCI1620 PC Card Controller on my laptop. I have a HP Pavilion zv5324EA and have a netgear wg511t wlan card with the atheros chipset plugged in. However it doesnt show up in lspci and is therefor not recognized. The cardbus and card are both working fine under windows.
I have found by searching the net that there were some troubles with my cardbus controller and the nforce3 chipset on a similar laptop:

None of the tips there helped me much end my wlan card remains unrecognized. I am thankful for any advice.

The problem has been solved by a kernelpatch for the cardbus on bugs.gentoo.org:
