I am reading so many different ways to get this GUI up and running w/ NVidia. I have always used G2 in char cell, not that I am hooked I had to install it on my home PC. So the intent of this mnachine is for home use.
I am somwhat confident that my kernel config is correct. I have emerged nvidia-kernel. now what? I read that you do not want to use 4k stack size, set chipset to be nforce2.
HELP!!!!!
Any help would be appreciated! _________________ Brent Weaver |

Linux rockhopper 2.6.9-gentoo-r1 #8 SMP Sat Mar 5 09:06:27 EST 2005 i686 AMD Athlon(tm) XP 1900+ AuthenticAMD GNU/Linux
The above is my kernel.
adaptr - you are right "this GUI" does not make sense. I guess I lacked coffee at the time of writing.
Thanks for all the info - is my kernel going to work ok? when I compiled my kernel I got a symbol error - do I care.... It seems to be a common one, I cannot get the error right now for I am emerging as stated in these threads.
Thank you all for the great support. _________________ Brent Weaver |

Why not try a more recent kernel or a less recent nvidia driver. It could be that the nvidia driver your using only works in 2.6.10. Also, this topic would better be placed in the Kernel and Hardware section, just for future reference. Read the changelogs for the nvidia kernel module and see if this is the case. Also do you have AGP support built into the kernel? If your nvidia card is AGP, then the driver might require AGP support in order to work. _________________ "That question was less stupid; though you asked it in a profoundly stupid way."
