I switched kernels from 2.6.9-r14 to 2.6.11-r2 to support the latest ATI fglrx driver and I noticed a difference in my monitor power save. The monitor no longer turns off. Instead, it just goes dark. I can see that the monitor is still on however. What setting in xorg.conf would control this? DPMS is "on". Is there any other setting?
I'd post the xorg.conf, but the system is currently compiling kdebase. I'm hoping this is a common issue and someone can point me in the right direction.
Also, I don't think it matters (hence the reason I put this in the general desktop forum) but the system is AMD64.
Thanks for your help!

Thanks. I actually found that one before I posted, but it didn't help me as I already had DPMS set properly. In the end, it seems not to matter. Now that I am running in KDE the monitor shuts off fine. I wonder why it worked in the non-GUI Linux environment using one kernel and not another. My .config files were nearly identical. Thanks again for the reply.
