i'm running the suse 2.4.19 kernel and just installed the nvidia 3123 drivers via emerge. they're working fine (glxgears gives me 922 frames/sec), but any program that uses something to do with gtk or some gnome library will crash hang freeze my system. i have to log in to fvwm2 instead of gnome2 now, which is ok with me, except i'd still like to run galeon (netscape 4.79 sucks!)
anybody have similar problems?
this is on a dell 4550 with i845 chipset and geforce4 mx420 64MB. chipset supports fast writes and sba, but the card only supports fast writes. i'm not using fast writes according to /proc.
thanks,

Try using the newest nvidia drivers, 4..., you can also try recompiling gtk+ & gtk+2. _________________ Life is like a box of chocolates... Before you know it, it's empty... |
