Through Cedega or wine?

Using cedega, it crashes. Using wine I see the intro movies running very slow and can hear sounds if I move the mouse above the menu entries, but it's not shown, the screen is all black.
By the way, I think it's hopeless to try it on linux because it generaly doesn't even run clean on windows

Its bugs are pretty much fixed by the official and unofficial patches, I think. But, it requires an Alienware-equivalent-spec PC to run smoothly under Windows, so even if it did work under Linux's emulation, it would be unplayably slow

I have been able to get it to install in Cedega, but not to run past showing the intro movies & menu.

Alienware, haha... that's like saying falcon northwest. It makes my teeth hurt.

Nothing like paying 3 or 4 times the value of a part for some idiot to put his "name brand" on it.

it run for some people on cedega, and sometimes not.

just by upgrading my kernel from 2.6.9-rc1 to 2.6.9-rc2 break it on one of my pc.
on the latest, it run like in windwos with a 2.6.14.
you just need some luck to run this game >.<
