Hi,

I'm trying to figure out if it is possible to escalate a process into a different scheduling class, such as RT. With Solaris this is possible via priocntl but I can't seem to find a similar method with Gentoo. It looks to me that you need to code the schedule you require into the program and that there is no other method of changing this. Does anyone know is this is the case?

Obviously I can renice a process to gain increased priority (to say -20), but this still leaves the process in SCHED_NORMAL scheduling policy afaik.

Thanks

Jon
