Hi,

I am using KDE3.3.2 and yesterday I updated a config file with etc-update. Since then my login screen looks different. I can not remember which config file I updated (something like *choose*).
Does anyone know which file I have to modify and what I have to set there to get the default login screen back again?

Thanks
menschmeier

you mean the graphical login screen? it might be xdm, KDM, GDM, Entrance or something like that. I guess if you use KDM, then you can change its looks in Control Center under System Administration -> Login Manager. I might be wrong thou... I've always used the console :D

Yes the graphical login screen. I am using KDM as windows manager. So I tried to do some changes in the control center - system adminstration - login manager but this didn't help.

Well starting a non graphical linux, and start X after you have logged in has some advantages ... but I am to lazy ....

maybe you should write a .bashrc script or something that starts X immediately on login. unless you enjoy the eye-candy :)
as i'm not using KDM myself, i can't help you. But maybe it'd help you, if you'd provide some more information about what exactly is different about it.
