I'm sorry if this might of been covered in a previous forum but I been up and down this forum and I havn't found a solution I'm hoping to a simple problem.

Everytime I 'emerge ut2004' and I go through with the installation, when it asks for the 4th disk, it won't accept the fourth disk. I then try the 5th disk and it says, found the fourth disk but here's the error I get:

Code:
* Found CD #4 root at /mnt/cdrom (this is actually disk 5)
 * Copying files from Disk 4...
cp: cannot stat `/mnt/cdrom//Textures': No such file or directory

!!! ERROR: games-fps/ut2004-3339 failed.
!!! Function src_install, Line 108, Exitcode 1
!!! copying files
!!! If you need support, post the topmost build error, NOT this status message.

Am I doing something wrong? I was thinking about copying each cd to my harddrive and then trying it that way but I'm sure i would run into new problems. Everyone on here says that they had no problems emerging ut2004, is there a better way to do it then the way I'm doing now. Also, the version of UT2004 is the Editors Choice Edition and it's a total of 7 disk for the install. Gentoo states that there are 6 disk for this particular install when you do it the way I have been doing it.

Any help here would be appreciated.

that might be the problem..
have you looked on the official UT / loki sites if they have an update perhaps?
AFAIK they also have forums there, so perhaps this is already discussed?

btw.. just reading the following.. "Please install the Editors' Choice bonus pack FIRST, and then 3355 ". did you do that?

Thanks man, I didn't need to do that, I just ran the gui installer on the first disk. I was surprised it worked.

Anyway, I have a new problem or should I say concern. I can play the game at a good rate of speed but in my terminal I get this readout after closing out the game:
Code:
WARNING: ALC_EXT_capture is subject to change!
Xlib:  extension "XiG-SUNDRY-NONSTANDARD" missing on display ":0.0".

Should I be concerened about this error. As far as I know this game runs with no problem but I could be wrong and this could be hindering my graphics speed. Any ideas?

Also, I'm running the latest Nvidia-kernel drivers for my card.

The currently "~x86 ~amd64" version of ut2004 should work perfectly with ECE disks. The older versions of the ebuild were written before I had ever had access to an ECE disk.

Anyway, if you mount your CD/DVD and do the following:

Code:
mkdir -p /etc/portage
echo "games-fps/ut2004-data" >> /etc/portage/package.keywords
echo "games-fps/ut2004-bonuspack-ece" >> /etc/portage/package.keywords
echo "games-fps/ut2004" >> /etc/portage/package.keywords
emerge -u ut2004

You should then be upgraded to the latest version using portage. This is only not marked stable because I have not had enough testing done by enough people. This is also the first of the series that splits out the game into 3 packages, allowing for updates without requiring the original CD/DVD, so I would like to get it moved to stable as quickly as possible.
