How do you turn certain services off on a gentoo system? gentoo doesn't have a /etc/inetd.conf file? I am trying to make my system more secure. Just not sure.. lol so many files..

Gentoo doesn't come with any *inetd by default, so any services you have will be started by initscripts.

Try doing an rc-update show to see whats running in each runlevel, then rc-update del $service $level to stop it from running on startup.
