Here's a wierd one for ya:
First time installing Gentoo. Downloaded and burned the minimal LiveCD and tried to boot from it. Got to the boot prompt fine. Typed in "gentoo" then the monitor (HP flatscreen) went blank! Popped up a message saying "out of range" and just sat there. I know my mother board (which has built in SiS630 video) isn't the best or even close to it, but it shouldn't do his should it? I tried another monitor I have and it said the same thing.
Any ideas? Kinda hard to install Gentoo if I can't see what I doing. |

Try using no-fb option to boot live-cd with.
F1,F2 or F3 should show you all options available. |
