gcc doesn't want to be multilib?

I switched to the 2005.0 profile, following the instructions in the faq.
Tho the auto way didn't work, it wanted to constantly recompile everything, even stuff i didn't need.
But the manual way did.

So it got me to compile gcc with multilib, so i did..

But it seems I can't set multilib as a use flag.. It won't take it anymore. Infact now when I try to update my system it wants to recompile itself without multilib. no matter if i set it or not.
I can't stop it, cause i need to merge more packages but they all depend on it not having multilib?? No matter how many packages i mask, they all depend on gcc and won't go.

Is this correct for 2005 or is there some way to stop it ?

From what I've heard, 2005.0 profiles turn off multilib.

I think it turns off the multilib flag, because it's always a multilib environment. At least if you don't set this profile:
/portage/profiles/default-linux/amd64/2005.0/no-multilib/

So everything should be fine...
