I'm looking for a step-by-step guide for setting up a linux box to hand spam filtering. We have a Windows network and run Exchange, but I think I may have finally convinced the powers that be to give Linux a shot, so if I can this set up and working then it will really pave the way for additional Linux solutions at work. I guess what I need is a box that will take incoming email, filter/flag it, and then forward it on to our Exchange server.

here you find two docs for setting up a mail gateway and a mailsystem.

http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/index.xml?catid=sysadmin

They worked for me and i got a mailgateway up with them.
