Hello
Creating a data CD K3B crashes as soon as I hit the burn button or try to go to the project proprieties through rightclicking the Project in the lower left frame.
The KDE Crash Handler debug output is:

I'm runnig K3B as root, because I run it on Kernel >2.6.7 . But the same problem seems to apear running it as user.
Because I'm not burning CD's that often I cannot tell since wich "emerge world" it apears.
So what can I doo to get it working?

probably something to do with kdelibs try emergeing again kdelibs and then k3b, it may be looking for some libs that where removed or changed when you did world, and its looking for the old libs .

Sadly it ditn't help it. After doing this reemerge I get pretty much the same output from the KDE-Crash-Handler:

it seems to me a either lib problem or a bug on k3b, try emergeing the latest version of k3b , btw please post your USE have you made any kde updates lately ??
it seems k3b is looking for some lib that is either corrupted or its looking for the old lib instead of the new one

I guess there was a update of kdelibs from a emerge sync emerge world lately. I canno't realy tell since when the problem occurs, because I don't burn CD's that often.

The newer ebuilds in portage are masked... Now I have k3b-0.11.18 on my system. I could emerge a masked k3b-0.11.19 if you'd think this would help.

Ok. I doo a emerge kdelibs k3b again.
I will probably report the results tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.

Sry for the very very long delay.
I finally found the prob. It wasent any sowtware problem at all. My Burner was just not connected to the IDE cable.

I'm having exactly the same problem. K3b crashes when I try to burn or open the properties panel.
There are some differences, though... If I burn as root it all works fine, while if I try to burn as user there come the crashes.
Actually I don't remember when the problem started... I think it was after I emeged the Tiblit theme for KDE, which theme btw is not installed on the root desktop.
I'm running on an Acer Aspire 1524 laptop, and using kdelibs 3.3.2-r8 and k3b-0.11.18, kernel 2.6.11-r6.
Has someone got any idea? |
