|
|
I just wanted to share a great feature in the KDE file manager that seems to be a bit of a secret to many KDE users. This feature alone was responsible for my move to KDE as my primary desktop env. Many people complaint about lack of network browsing feature in KDE, but I have solid proof here that this is not true at all. KDE's filemanager has the best network browsing capability, and yes its even better than MS Windows. To see this in action check out the following ScreenShots I have posted (please be patient with the page load time..its only cable).
If you would like to set this up for yourself then you will need:
1) OpenSSH
2) Keychain (unless you don't mind entering your passphrase everytime)
3) Samba
4) LISa
and of course KDE!
If you have any questions regarding configuring these post up |

This is one of the reasons that I sometimes use konqueror with gnome :p
However, kde 3.1.2 still has some problems seeing all the pc's on my lan (just like windows/explorer), while nautilus sees them all _________________ In "old" Europe we already have a word for "pre-emptive strikes" mr Bush: its called "war" |
