Hi,
I'm using gentoo on an alpha 255 (avanti) at the moment, its acting as a firewall/router running iptables which are being setup in a script. I got the information for the script from one of the threads in these forums.
What i ideally want this machine to be is a firewall for a small network, an email spam filter, a webserver, and an NFS drive. I realise that having all this running on a firewall is not so secure, but its only a home network, and i don't want millions of machines running at home.
I'd really like to be able to configure the firewall via php/apache in the same way ipcop or m0n0wall do. does anyone know of a program that will allow me to configure the iptables via php or similar that will run on an alpha?
I don't want to migrate to ipcop as i don't think it will allow me to add on the extra features i want. Also gentoo is the only distro i've really goten on with.
thanks, |

I think webmin has a linux firewall module and the latest version is ~alpha.
Might be worth a go.
Otherwise IPCop has quite a strong mod community that may be able to help with what you want.
IPCop is based on Linux From Scratch now I think - so it shouldnt be too hard to install the extra stuff you need. |
