Guys 've anyone tried fbsplash in kernel 2.6.11-rc4-love1 ????
i'm using this kernel and for me fbsplash is not working. i specified all options in the kernel and recompiled it then emerged splashutils and then set everything in grub.conf but nothing shows up. the same ordinary loading takes place.
Please enlighten me guys in this and help me. _________________ Santhosh Kannan

Use an older kernel if you want a working fbsplash ... like a 2.6.10 _________________ "You can lead a horticulture but you can't make her think" ~ Dorothy Parker

I installed 2.6.11 coz Oracle wont install in lower kernels in my system. Oracle instlaller would disappear at 82% and when i tried 2.6.11 only then i could install Oracle 9iR2. it is absolutely essential for my project
Isnt there any other option _________________ Santhosh Kannan

I am having the same problem. I thought emerging splashutils-1.1.9.1 would solve everything but it did not. Just waiting for a new patch. _________________ My Company: Hakata Consulting |
