This one has me a bit baffled. This morning while about to make an alteration to fstab I noticed a directory in /etc called radiusclient. I have been in and out of the /etc directory probably a few hundred times on this machine and have never noticed this one before. Upon further investigation I discovered that radiusclient is some kind of developement framework for radius dial-up servers or something. By looking at the config files in /etc/radiusclient it appears that it hasn't been set up to do anything yet. My first thought was that it had been dragged in as a dependency of something else that was recently installed and it is indeed in the portage tree so that sounded plausible. However searching my emerge log showed up nothing to do with it. When I did an
Code: | emerge -Cp radiusclient |
portage couldn't find it to remove it which tells me that it wasn't brought in by portage. So my question is, if portage didn't install it, and I didn't install it, where in the hell did it come from and what's it doing there. Not to be paranoid but I don't like it when stuff just appears out of no where. Any ideas appreciated. _________________ #include <stdio.h>

qpkg says it belongs to net-dialup/ppp-2.4.2-r10. Thanks for the idea. So why wasn't it there before? That package was installed Jan 21 of this year and hasn't been updated since. _________________ #include <stdio.h>
