|
|
I've noticed a lockup issue that is caused after I emerge qt (it was jsut a rebuild of qt, not an upgrade). My box starts up fine and works pretty well, but when it comes to shutting down it locks up at the points that X is stopped. The lockup problem doesn't happen all of the time, but does happen most of the time.
I am able to fix this issue by re-emerging nvidia-kernel, nvidia-glx and doing an 'opengl-update nvidia' (not entirely sure if the opengl-update is needed, but did it just in case).
Does anyone know why this might happen? Do some of the nvidia libraries get trashed when qt is emerged?
Thanks |

Hmmm...I don't see why QT would cause a problem here.
You didn't happen to update your kernel anytime recently, did you? |

I haven't changed the kernel for a while, been running 2.6.9-r9 for a bit now.
I've been playing around with this a bit more and I can consistently cause this problem to reappear when I do an 'emerge qt', but as soon as I do a 'emerge nvidia-kernel nvidia-glx && opengl-update nvidia' the lockup issues just go away...!? |
