What that hell with my terminal

I reinstall the system ,,,
and everything went on ok
but after i install xfce4 and eterm..
I startx and run eterm..
but it's didn't work....
i emerge mlterm...and find it not work too....
and so as the xterm.........
what that hell i wonder ................

without the terminal there are so many many things i can't do ............

somebody help me...........

If i boot as root
i can run terminal ...............
what's wrong .....
