I've been looking for a way to add a network folder to my computer within KDE. I've been using ssh within the terminal to access files on another computer for which i have a username/passwd, but is there a way to make this network location a folder on my desktop (just for integration)? Thanks.

you would need to have the ssh stuff mounted like a regular file system.

you could look into this kernel module that allows you to mount ssh stuff

http://fuse.sourceforge.net/sshfs.html

Sshfs-fuse is currently a masked package. Would you say it is safe to install?

An easier solution is to use KDE's "fish". In konqueror, enter in the location "fish://user@site" (where your username and site are of course substituted). If this works for you, you can then just drag the location to your desktop and select Link when asked what you want to do with the URL. Subsequently, opening that link will give you a konqueror window to your ssh server.

Awesome, thank you. I'll try that.
