Hi, I'm running the latest Xorg with Enlightenment (DR16) as my session manager on a G3 PowerBook, I've emerged various PPC laptop utilities (i.e pbbuttonsd, cpudynd, and as a graphical frontend for pbbuttons I emerged gtkpubbuttons. Now according to the PPC FAQ I just need to edit my ~/.xinitrc and add in the line '/usr/bin/gtkpbbuttons -d -t MacOSX' well I've tried adding this line to my
~/.xinitrc - didn't work
~/.xsession - didn't work
/etc/X11/xinitrc.d/ I wrote a quick shell script for it.. and added a couple of lines to call it in the /etc/X11/xinitrc script.. didn't work
/etc/X11/Sessions/enlightenment - added it after the 'exec enlightenment' line - didn't work...
This getting ridiculously frustrating and I feel I had to make a new post cos this is not really covered in any of the other posts about Enlightenment. A lot of people will probably feel inclined to tell my to right click on it and set the remember settings, this is not possible with the gtkpbbuttons daemon as it only appears on screen when you use you volume or brightness control keys and it is not clickable in any way... what am I doing wrong? and why isn't my ~/.xinitrc being read? |
