Hey guys,
Just set up a fresh installl of Gentoo on a P4 2.8 GHz and an ATI Radeon X300 SE (which is PCI Express) and when I tried to play tuxracer it was really choppy and unplayable, glxgears runs fine however lags up the system horribly. Are there are drivers I should install? I've never had an ATI so i'm really not sure what ones to get...especially for this card. |

Just an update...ran glxgears again and the gears are spinning a LOT faster and the system doesn't lag, not sure what caused the chage but tuxracer is still choppy. |

You need to install the ati-drivers package to get 3D acceleration for your card, if you haven't done that already. If "glxinfo | grep direct" shows "direct rendering: Yes" then it means 3D acceleration is enabled. _________________ Per Ardua Ad Astra
