I would like to backup my Kurobox from LAN, what solution will you suggest me ?

Kurobox has no GUI interface and can only be managed from console (ssh session) or from a Web interface.

Many thanks for your help.

I use rdiff-backup for all my backup purposes. However, if you want to encrypt the data before sending, look into duplicity.

Both of these programs haven't had a release in quite some time, though...The rdiff-backup mailing list is still pretty active, and I've used it for over a year without a problem.

Is this what you're talking about? ;-)

Well, i can't install rdiff-backup on Kurobox (PPC) as these packages look to be masked :

!!! All ebuilds that could satisfy "rdiff-backup" have been masked.
!!! One of the following masked packages is required to complete your request:
- net-misc/rdiff-backup-0.12.7 (masked by: missing keyword)
- net-misc/rdiff-backup-0.12.6 (masked by: missing keyword)
- net-misc/rdiff-backup-0.13.4 (masked by: ~ppc keyword)
- net-misc/rdiff-backup-0.8.0 (masked by: missing keyword)

For more information, see MASKED PACKAGES section in the emerge man page or
section 2.2 "Software Availability" in the Gentoo Handbook.

Ok, I'm not experienced with kurobox, but that message there says that rdiff-backup-0.13.4 is masked by the ~ppc keyword. Do an:
Code:
echo "net-misc/rdiff-backup ~ppc" >> /etc/portage/package.keywords

Then you can try to emerge it again, and I'd be willing to bet it'd work.

Looks like rdiff-backup might have some issues with the ppc arch, but it kinda implies that you can give 0.13.4 a go to test it out and stuff...It'll probably work if you just unmask it.
