Hello,
i've updated this week Xorg and glibc with the stables sources
now when I load Eterm from gnome-panel or form enlightenment menus Eterm take a long time to load, and takes 99% of the CPU for 10 seconds aprox.
The weird thing is: When I load Eterm from a terminal, ther's no problem and it's pop-up instantly.

someone knows what is goin on with my gentoo?

cheers

I'm all of a sudden having the same problem.
I can't even be sure of when this actually started but it was only about a week ago, a few days after I built a brand new system.

I don't know what's going on, but you can always try looking for errors at the output of your X server -at the appropiate VT, if you start it via startx- or your WM.

i guess all of you are running utf8 systems, and eterm is buggy about that. try to switch to another locale (non-utf8) and see if the problem still exists

I can confirm, that this may be UTF-8 related. Just got the same problem yesterday, when I emigrated to UTF-8. I am, however, a complete noob in that regard, I was just following the guides and HOWTOs.

the only solution atm is not to use eterm with unicode, or try another term emulator :?
