|
I recently recieved an Albatron 5700Q from a friend for cheap, but there is no bios on it. My friend was attempting to upgrade the bios an neglected to make a backup copy of the original bios, and the new bios doesn't work. So here I am with a card thats 1 bios away from working. I have searched the internet for a replacement bios and I found one for the Albatron 5700P version, however when I flashed it post wouldn't complete(no beeps or activity). If any can help me, thanks in advance. |

Mako_energy,
If the BIOS chip is soldered in you need to be very skilled with a soldering iron, have a BIOS image and a friend that has a EEPROM programmer to put the image in the EPROM. If its not soldered, you still need the other things. _________________ Regards,

I apologize, I just realized that nowhere in my post does it indicate that I am talking about the video card, the Albatron FX 5700Q 2.0 |

Mako_energy,
If you can't get the system to POST with the card plugged in the advice still holds.
If the card has a JTAG port, the BIOS can be probably be loaded via JTAG.
However, its unlikely to be publicised, if its there. _________________ Regards,

The card 5700Q is an AGP card and I have a PCI video card as well, I tried to give a bios for a card that is similiar by going in with the PCI video card, but nothing. Getting to a point where I can give it the bios isn't the problem, it's getting the right bios to be put on. I can't find to right bios anywhere in the internet. The bios I tried to put on there is the 4.36.20.23.00 bios version for the Albatron FX 5700P version. I need a bios thats known to work, the best solution I can think of is the off chance someone can post thier bios version f they got the same card. |
