I'm trying to configure my remote to work with MythTV.
After countless attempts I'm at the point where I gave up on remapping keystrokes from the input layer and trying to switch back to lirc (which allows me to remap all I want )
Now the key problem...
I used the tip on bytesex.org to use the evdev lirc driver to get lirc support from my IR device, which normally just registers as a HID and starts sending keystrokes.
Now I can add keys to lirc BUT I still get the keystrokes from the input layer! So when I map key '1' to a keystroke '1' I end up with entering '11' because the input layer also sends its own keystroke
This renders lirc pretty much useless because whatever I do, i still end up sending 2 commands for every key press. (Not to mention the fact that some 'default' keystrokes from the input layer device might give some strange results - like when trying to view a recording and ending up deleting it by pressing the action button on the remote )
Perhaps there is a straightforward way to stop devices from sending events to the active console or program but I didn't find it ![Smile :)](images/smiles/icon_smile.gif) |
