When I try to shutdown Tomcat on my desktop, the Java processes do not immediately end. :( Whether I run the init-script or the shutdown.sh, I can do a ps and see that the processes for 5-10 min before they eventually die off. While I can easily kill one of the processes to end them all, this is a giant pain, and I have no idea why this happens. This is with a fresh install of Tomcat and JDK 1.5, with only the default admin webapp and none of my own. I have the same versions of Tomcat and JDK running on my laptop without any problems.

I appreciate all and any suggestions.
