cd /usr/portage/dev-db
wget http://www.seiler.us/files/tora-cvs.tar.gz
tar -xvzf tora-cvs.tar.gz
rm tora-cvs.tar.gz
emerge -C tora
emerge tora-cvs

And you'll then be blessed with new features in CVS that aren't in the 1.3.8 release. Numerous bug fixes and features additions (like server PID of processes).

I'll submit this to bugs.gentoo.org but they have a policy of not having cvs ebuilds. The bug is bug #14304.
