Hello !
I have an old laptop which i just installed gentoo on.
The system is not that fast:
An 486 50mhz dx2 and 20 mb of ram.
I have been looking for an howto on the subject, but yet i havent found any (that maked sence to me).
This is my first time installing gentoo.
The question is if anyone knows if and how i can compile programs for my laptop on my main system which is a p4 and running suse linux.
Ive been reading about distcc and about crosscompiling, but i still dont have a clear picture in my head how it can be done.
Any links to relevant stuff will be appreciated.
Thanks.

zly,
Make a new partition on your P4 for installing gentoo on. You may well be able to borrow swap for this.
In this space set everything up for installing on a 486. When you are done, the code will run on your laptop. _________________ Regards,
