siccome ho una connessione wireless biricchina volevo sapere come si fa, con un solo comando, a far scaricare tutti i sorgenti e poi compilarli... so che si usa emerge --fetchonly per scaricare i sorgenti ma non so poi come si fa a compilare questi
immagino che una volta saputolo mettero i due comandi uno in fila all'altro in console, giusto?

Prima lo scarichi con:
| Code: | | emerge -f <nome_pacchetto> |
e poi compili con:
| Code: | | emerge <nome_pacchetto> |

Si, fai come ha detto gutter.. un piccolo chiarimento: Se ci fai caso quando fai l'emerge di pacchetti che avevi gia' compilato il tool emerge non li riscarica xche' controlla prima in /usr/portage/distfiles se c'e' il pacchetto sorgente relativo alla versione da emergiare e se c'e' chiaramente inizia a compilarlo. Infatti il fetchonly non fa altro che scaricarti i pacchetti e metterli nell'apposita dir sopracitata!

azz basta un semplice emerge e lui sa di avere già i sorgenti?? fico!
quindi il risultato per poter andare a letto tranquillo è:

mi suona male... forse in uno script funziona ma in console ci vorrà qualche separatore, vero?

già!
Come ha detto gutter l'&& serve per concatenare i comandi in modo che il secondo venga eseguito solo se il primo è andato a buon fine, e poi ricorda che se fai un fetchonly per un emerge Deep (-D) e update (-u) anche la relativa compilazione dovrà essere eseguita con tali opzioni, in poche parole ladifferenza fra i due comandi deve sempre essere nella -f che deve mancare nel secondo comando (IMHO  )

mitticci!
mi dite tutti quanti cos'è "jabber"... la lampadina rossa che avete tutti?
e visto che siete mitici vi chiedo un'altra cosa... adoro gnome-light e ho visto che la 2.10 è masked quindi volevochiedervi se il metodo migliore per installare i masked è metterli in package.keywords... e anche se è uso comune usare pacchetti masked
