|
|
I've been getting graphical artifacts on my screen during boot. I'm using fbsplash and I think the artifacts are the result of the splash screen not displaying right.
I'd like to get the fbsplash to work. Anyone seen this/have any ideas? |

which framebuffer driver are you using?
Which version of fbsplash(aka kernel version)/splashutils?
when exactly do the artifacts show up? Do the vanish after some time?
Is it the silent splash screen that shows these artefacts or the pretty console with background image?

I'm currently using vesafb, but I've also tried the radeonfb. I'm using splashutils 0.9.1
The artifacts appear right when the framebuffer kicks in (the screen changes resolution) at the bottom of the screen. There are essentially 3 or 4 "rows" of them that go completely across the screen. The stuff disappears when the verbose text gets there and/or the text scrolls up. |
