monitor mode, lucent and dwl650

Hi.

I got two wireless pcmcia cards. One is a lucent silver. And the other is a D-link dwl 650.
I try to get them into monitor mode, I have tried a hole lot of drivers and and I can't get the monitor mode to work.
(cant get them into monitor mode, and cant see monitor mode with 'iwpriv eth0')

I think that it is the orinoco driver for my dlink, and it is the orinoco driver for my lucent.

I have tried the original drivers with both 2.4.28 gentoo kernel and 2.6.10 gentoo kernel.
and for the both kernels I tried the drivers from http://www.nongnu.org/orinoco/

I will be happy for any help at all!!
