You need to burn that universal iso you downloaded, on a cd and then boot your computer from it. I suggest you download an appropriate GRP iso as well if you don't want or can't connect to the internet before you have installed a window environent (i.e. kde, gnome). |

is this right?
and how well will gentoo rin on 128mb ram? |

You could also purchase the same stuff from the Gentoo store http://store.gentoo.org. If you do, you will make sure your purchase will be the one you actually want and you will be contributing to the Gentoo team
I am running gentoo 2004.3 on a p3 with 128mb ram for a week now and it's doing just fine. From my small experience, best way to see it in action and customize it to fit your needs. |

That package includes the universal CD, but I don't see why you have to order it, just download the CD. (I hope thats not treason to gentoo, I really do hope you sell CDs.) |

i GUESS u can first
/etc/portage/scripts/bootstrap -f and emerge --fetchonly system first then disconnect from internet.
