I just deleted all of my Linux partitions and made new ones for a fresh Gentoo install. However when I exited out and rebooted I noticed that the old Linspire boot menu is still there. I'm thinking that it's still in the Windows MBR. So my question is am I going to have any kind of boot system problems when I go to install and configure Grub? You know like one trying to prevent the other from working or something like that? I appreciate everyone's help so far. BOY, am I learning some things about Linux-and pretty fast too!!
Thanks,
Dave |

grub will override the old MBR (unless you tell it not to), so you'll get rid of that Linspire zombie |

You have created the partitions, but haven't changed anything in the MBR at this point. The MBR will be changed (i.e. overwritten) when you'll install Grub at the end of your current install. So it's your "new" Grub's menu that will be loaded when you'll reboot after the installation. |
