Hi,
I would like to know if there is a way to suspend my desktop PC under Linux.
All the power management documentation that I've read so far deals with laptops, but I want the same funcionality for my desktop (just as I do under Windows).
Regards. |

It's the same for a laptop or desktop. Here's a nice howto.
Enjoy |

OK,
I'm not interested in using hibernation, only need to suspend my computer (S3) with the sleep button.
I have compiled my kernel with ACPI support and emerged acpid.
acpid runs when the system boots.
What else do I need to suspend my system when I press the sleep button and to resume when I strike any key or move the mouse?
Do I need to load any ACPI module?
BTW, how stable is this implementation? Is it as safe to use as in Windows?
Thanks. |
