Print Preview Problem (SOLVED)

I cannot see Print Previews in KDE. I get the error <code>Could not open /tmp/kde-agrippa/kdeprint_RANDOMLETTERS</code>When I look at the directory in questions 1) It is owned by root any oly allows root rwx. 2) The file that cannot be opened is not there.

If I am trying to print a TIFF (fax) I get the same error. I am using KDM and kde 3.4, but the problem may have existed before, but I didn't see it because I never tried to fax anything.

I can print pdfs fine, but I cannot see previews if I try. I have looked around a bit and it seems no one else has this problem.

That the file is not there is not surprising. The error message might be telling you that it can't create the file because it can't open the folder. I'd try changing the ownership of the folder first, to see if that solves the problem. I'd also try deleting the top level folder, to see if it can recreate the permissions properly (/tmp/kde-agrippa).

I've gone through several iterations of permissions. Currently /tmp/kde-aprippa is 777, and still I cannot print TIFFs or view print previews. The desired files are not created. I can still print pdfs. I think LPR is set up wrong or something. I will post if and when I figure this out.

I had an older (3.3) version of kdelibs installed in addition to 3.4. I uninstalled it and print preview worked fine. The FaxPrinter still doesn't work, but I suspect that is unrelated
