Hey,
I was wondering if anyone knows how to cut down on all the stuff the /dev directory shows. I like how the livecd only shows what is actually there and not 300+ devices.

UDEV or devfs.

If you are already running a udev system make sure in /etc/conf.d/rc that DEVICE_TARBALL is off.

Good thing, but be careful with that, some essential devices (like ppp for me) are still unavailable with udev, so you will have to create them manually in /etc/conf.d/local_start if you turn of the devices tarball.
