|
|
It is my spring hiatus for high-school, and in my spare time I plan to reinstall my gentoo system around reiser4 and the latest open-source techonology. I would like to build my system off of Gentoo 2005 Live CDs; so my question is: Does anyone know when Gentoo 2005.0 will be released? And if so will it contain reiser4 tools for creation of a reiser4 filesystem?
I figured it would be released officially soon, sense it nomally does not take days to patch and compile a few programs. I also hear that it was released and mirrored, if so can anyone tell me the address of a mirror with Gentoo 2005.0 Live CD, the minimal livecd is suitable, because I plan on doing a stage-1 install.
The reason why I would specifically want to test the Gentoo 2005.0 Live CD is to see if my wireless card works, however, if it does not I willing to construct my own custom live-cd from catalyst; though knowing if the Gentoo 2005.0 Live CD contains support for my wireless card will save me much time, and so will knowing when it will be released.
My wireless card uses the acx111 drivers, preferably. _________________ I hold no prejudices; I hate everyone equally. |

You are not the first and won't be the last to ask that question... However, the answer is still the same!!! You will know whenever it comes out. Either find something else useful to do in the meantime or go with 2004.3 but I can smell it now--anytime now.

2005.0 does not contain support for acx111 or reiser4.
I've mentioned acx111 to the releng folks, and once it has a stable release in portage it can be considered for the livecds.
Reiser4 is still under heavy development, and support will not be added at least until it is in the vanilla (mainstream) kernel.
