I emerge cyrus-imapd, and the daemon is running. I can login using telnet localhost 143. But imtest -m login localhost gives the following error:
connect: Connection refused
failure: Network initialization
I can't find any relevant entry in the logfiles, what am I doing wrong? |

what authentication are you using ? pam ? pwauthd ? can you login via port 110 (also by cyrus) ?
try:
telnet localhost 110
user <username>
pass <password>
this *should* work, if not check your authentication config ... |

That doesn't work, my auth.log has the following entry:
imapd[3138]: mysql plugin couldnt connect to any host
But I'm not using mysql for auth, and there is no relevant config file in /etc containing 'mysql'. |

I'm still having the mysql problem. But I can login to the server using Outlook Express. But I can't create directories, I get permission denied. What am I doing wrong? |
