Howdy,

I emerged enlightenment-0.16.7.2 the other day, and have noticed that it doesn't appear in the Session drop down from KDM 3.4. I have verified that it is located in the /etc/X11/Sessions directory. The other sessions that are listed within the directory appear on the KDM drop down. Enlightenment shows if I use GDM or if I use an older version of KDM. Just wondering if anyone else has observed this and if so, what other steps can I follow to track down the cause.

Same problem here! Just emerged enlightenment today.

I did notice one thing. There is a config file under /usr/kde/3.3/share/config/kdm

Maybe you can see something that I can't in that folder... I've tried screwing with the sessions folder in there by putting my own .desktop file in there pointing to enlightenment in /etc/X11/Sessions. However, no luck at all. And I thought it is plainly a kdm problem, but they've got kdm masked in portage.

I did it. I just used enlightenment!

Another thread was talking about another folder.

Create a desktop file for enlightenment that looks like this

Code:
[Desktop Entry]
Type=XSession
Exec=/etc/X11/Sessions/enlightenment
TryExec=/etc/X11/Sessions/enlightenment
Name=enlightenment

Name this file enlightenment.desktop
(If you're unsure, just open up a GNOME or KDE desktop file and alter the lines from Exec down)
Place this file in /usr/share/xsessions

Kdm will now see enlightenment

OZ,

Stop using KDM. In fact it's time for you to start using Enlightenment. Get on that DR17 release!:D
