Hi
i have a few domains for my friends hosted on my server, will maybe host more. I am curious which ftpd to use...what would you suggest?
More vsftpd or proftpd ?
My domains are all hosted like this /var/www/domainname/htdocs?
What are your strategies / configurations related to apache vhost / ftp access for the users (maybe someone would be that nice to quote his configurations as example?
Greetings,

I had it running too, when i search on google for it and on the forums there were some security related issues i read about, therefore i was asking. I am using system logins for the moment using the dummy bash 'ftp' at the moment for those users. I know there is the possibility to use authfiles but i dont know who so solve the file system rights then and how to give them a homedir like /var/www/domainname then, those examples they give you on the proftpd docs page isnt very helpful on this topic and the documentation is not very helpful on that either since the users guide was down last time i checked |
