I have some files with Japanese filenames on a Windows ntfs partition. When I go to the folder where they are they don't appear, and checking the size of the folder reports 0 bytes. If I rename them they appear in Linux, but I'd rather leave them named the way they are.
Any thoughts? |

Add Japanese and UTF-8 support to your kernel (under File Systems -> Native Language Support in the 2.6 kernel series).
After that you might have to pass some mount options, but I'm not sure about that...
What version of Windows are you trying to mount the partition from? I know that XP is fairly nice about internationalization (took Microsoft long enough ), but pre-XP things are pretty hairy in terms of mounting and so forth. Make sure that your filemanager/terminal program also understands Japanese because some don't (xterm for instance). |
