i'm trying to boot my time an hour forward cuz we just changed the clocks here in italy but when i do date (alll the numbers) it tells me to set the local time area or something... can someone just quickly tell me what to do... cuz i didn't think changing the time would've been such a hastle. _________________ The real world isn't what you thought it was going to be?
re-emerge it with gentoo linux! |

here's a quick and good solution just to never ever have to change that clock again...
use ntp-client to set the clock... If you do a search on the board here, you'll find pleny of help.
I've set it up that way, and I didn't have to change my clock today. Best thing of all is that all clocks in the house here are now snchronized with my ISP's ntp-server... |

Code: | cd /etc
rm localtime
ln -sf ../usr/share/zoneinfo/Europe/Rome localtime |
and then do the time stuff you need to do.
