Ciao ragazzi, dopo aver sudato 115 camice sono riuscito ad installare gensplash e a configurarlo correttamente.
Pero' ora:

These are the packages that I would merge, in order:

Quindi ho provato con:

Li ho unemergiati , ho riprovato con emerge -Dupv ma mi da' sempre:

Scusa se ti ho fatto "perdere" un po' di tempo ma mi sono accorto che era genkernel che richiedeva bootsplash!!!
Avevo dimenticato di togliere la use nel make.conf....

volevo solo aggiungere che questo problema lo può causare anche bootsplash-themes-livecd, e quindi se una cartella della versione del package è presente nella dir /var/db/pkg/media-gfx, va eliminata come suggerito da gutter per splashutils.
(a me è successo lo stesso problema e ho appunto risolto eliminando la dir della versione di bootsplash-themes-livecd)
