Ok I am trying to install the love-sources to build the kernel. I downloaded love-sources-2.6.11-r2.ebuild and placed it in /usr/local/portage/sys-kernel/love-sources/. I then tried to ebuild ...../love-sources-2.6.11-r2.ebuild digest and I keep getting this error

Sounds like you didn't download the ebuild but some kind of HTML file for some reason. (Probably the sourceforge mirror redirector page, or an 404)
Have you actually looked at the supposed ebuild to see if it looks correct?

Yep looks like I have an html file instead of the ebuild  Got the actual ebuild and am compiling kernel now. Thanks'
