Also, sorry for sounding impatient, but I was wondering if 2.20 will be out today as planned?

I'm solving a some problems with fbsplash that don't want to load at boot. After that, 2.20 is ready, I'm not able to enable antialias on kde fonts but I've seen that it's usable anyway.
Please wait again ;)

For the impatients: I'm finishing amd64 porting, all packages are recompiled now with amd64, now I have to test for some missing package and then start to hack catalyst and genkernel.

Hi!

I have had problems booting from your livecd. The only version I have gotten to work is 1.4.2-stable. When booting with 2.10, at the "Filling filesystem" section, the screen fills with:

Code:
cp: Write Error: No space left on device

Then you get prompted with (freezes whatever you type):

Code:

>> Booting...
INIT: version 2.85 booting

Enter runlevel:

Any idea what is causing this?

With 1.4.2-stable I am having problems with reiser4, I googled some and someone that have had the same problems;
http://www.mail-archive.com/reiserfs-list@namesys.com/msg16154.html.

The reiser4 patches on the minimal livecd's contains the bug.

I don't know what reiser4 patches your 2.6.9-lxnay1 kernel contain. Well, I can't boot it anyway :(

Anyone know how I can solve this? I want to install gentoo with reiser4, but the emerge freezes, caused by that reiser4 bug :(

Thanks for any help!

Minimal LiveCD is not developed anymore for now, maybe I'll make a newer version in the future containing some useful things.

The reason that Gentoo RR4 LiveCD doesn't boot is because you haven't enough ram (maybe less than 128). 128 Mb of RAM is the minimum for 1.3/2.x. The minimal livecd can boot with only 64Mb of ram.

Sorry about it, it's very hard for me to work on a lot of different versions :(

Code:

Mounted devfs on /dev
Freeing unused kernel memory:224k freed
reiser4[Khelper (726)] :cbk_level_lookup(fs/reiser4/search.c:1033) [vs-3533]:

reiser4[swapper(1)] :cbk_level_lookup(fs/reiser4/search.c:1033) [vs-3533]:
WARNING: Keys are inconsistent.Fsck?
Kernel panic - not syncing : No init found . Try passing init= option to kernel.

Code:

chroot: cannot run command `/bin/bash': Input/output error

Cosa sta succedendo? :?:
Posso ripristinare il mio sistema senza dover riniziare tutto da capo perdendo molti dati a me cari? :?:

Ti posso esporre i miei tentativi (falliti):

1)root Reiser4
risultato: /sbin/rc va in segfault.

/usr --> /mnt/reiser4/usr
etc.
/bin/prog --> ../usr/bin/prog
non funziona e va ridefinito come
/bin/prog --> /usr/bin/prog

bug report: CLOSED INVALID, in quanto usavo Reiser4.

Ovviamente, nulla ti impedisce di provare. Magari a te va meglio.

Ho quattro partizioni:
So di altri che hanno adottato questo sistema e funziona egregiamente,al dire il vero anche a me funzionava fino a ieri.
A proposito sapreste indicarmi una guida valida e aggiornata sui vari kernel specialmente i 2.6? :?:

Hey.

I have a question. Should I wait for your next version if I only want to use it to install a system from?

If your hardware is being detected, it doesn't matter.

thank you all! It's your LiveCD, not mine! What do you want in the next version? I've planned some cool things, like video driver autoprobe (please post your "cat /proc/fb0/vbe_info" output for this, applications updates (some applications are quite old now), and a beautilul "?"

AMD64 release is a beautiful work in progess right now, I've finished to recompile the entire system, now I have to set up catalyst scripts. Unfortunately, reiser4 won't be available in amd64 version, because it's not yet available for this platform.

There's an issue with Firefox in 2.20. It would seem that there's something wrong with the Firefox launcher. Every time I try to launch it, I get this:
Code:
/usr/bin/firefox: line 88: 11281 Illegal instruction     $mozbin "$@"
Great work, though! :)

mumble... what's your CPU? I'm investigating now...

UPDATE: I confirm this bug, maybe the cause is mozilla-launcher 1.22, i'm updating it to 1.23 and rebuilding the ISO. If it's the case, expect a 2.21 release very very soon. Firefox is quite essential IMHO.

fsck.reiser4 does not work in 2.20
Code:

lxnay, thenk you for your job, 2.20 is GREAT LIVECD!

i would like to see in 2.30:

- dxr3 support based on latest cvs ( dxr3.sf.net )
- upgrade kadu to latest cvs ( 0.3.9 is quite old... www.kadu.net )
- add amarok to 1.2beta3 ( amarok rox! :)amarok.kde.org )
- ivtv driver would be cool ( ivtv.sf.net )
- maybe nvidia drivers in livecd? ( this would be really cool www.nvidia.com )

i know that some of these are not posibile right now ( or maybe im wrong? :P ) but it would be bool to see those in livecd!
