I just thought I'd ask here, as I haven't been able to find an asnwer anywhere else.
I recently compiled APM support in kernel 2.4.20 on my desktop machine to get rid of that infernal fan noise when the machine is idle . The problem is, the machine will suspend after 15 minutes of inactivity (keyboard & mouse) even if I have stuff compiling, which is really annoying. According to the apmd man page, if /etc/apmd_proxy returns 1, the apm driver should disable the suspend, but that doesn't work. Do I need a kernel patch for apm support for this to work? I'd like to check CPU load in apmd_proxy, and deny the suspend if the load is above 0.10 or so. _________________ Dan |
